The Antigo Fire Department has released the name of an 85-year-old woman killed in a fire Thursday. Investigators say Thelma Bula was transported to a nearby hospital, but died from her injuries.

Crews were called to Bula's home located at 1418 Arctic Street around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators from the Antigo Police Department, Antigo Fire Department and the Wisconsin Fire Marshalls have concluded their investigation. They said an exact source of the fire could not be determined as there were multiple ignition sources that could not be excluded.

UPDATE: Thurs 8:33 PM, Dec. 26, 2013

The Antigo Police Department confirms that an elderly woman is dead after she was pulled from a house fire.

The Antigo Fire Dept. was called to the home at 1418 Arctic Street - on Antigo's northeast side - about 2 p.m. on Thursday. Antigo Fire Chief Jon Petroskey says the woman was pulled from the fire and taken to Langlade Hospital, but died from her injuries. Nobody else was in the home.

Chief Petroskey says firefighters had a challenging fire to put out.

"The fire was very difficult to fight because of the style, the construction of the home, a lot of the fire had dropped down to the basement area. It then rekindled in the basement. We were chasing it through the attic and through the walls and through the basement," he said.

Because someone died, the state will do a full investigation. The State Fire Marshal started working on finding a cause of the fire Thursday evening.

The woman's name has not yet been released.
