The parents of a 3-year-old girl who drowned in western Wisconsin this summer after wandering off, will return to court this week to learn if their case will move forward.
Jenna Danish, 33, and Thomas Williams, 42, are both charged with child neglect resulting in death. The two are the parents of Reena Williams, who disappeared on August 15 before being found dead in a canal just 25-yards from her Danbury home.
A neighbor told authorities it wasn't the first time Reena was wandering around alone.
The criminal complaint says Danish was sleeping and Thomas Williams was under the influence of synthetic marijuana when Reena disappeared.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for the two October 31.
Both face more than two decades behind bars if convicted.
Danbury is in Burnett County.
