The Mosinee Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a garage Wednesday morning.
Crews from Mosinee, Marathon, Stratford and Kronenwetter were paged to Strand Lane near County Highway O near Mosinee just after 7 a.m.
Firefighters said when they arrived, there was so much damage to the garage that their focus was on making sure the fire didn't spread to surrounding areas.
Mosinee's Fire Chief, Josh Klug, says having all of those crews available helps keep the firefighters safe, especially on a hot day like today.
Klug says it appears the garage held some lawn mowers, storage, household items and gas tanks.
Eyewitnesses say they heard loud blasts soon after the fire started. Klug attributed those to many pressurized air cylinders inside and around the garage.
