The Wood County Health Department says three lakes are now safe after testing earlier this month for e. coli.

White Sand, Red Sand, and Nepco Beach have reopened for swimming. The health department says two consecutive water samples show the beaches are again safe.

Heavy rain is believed to have improved the conditions at the swimming areas.
