The Portage County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two men who died over the weekend in a one-vehicle accident southeast of Mosinee.
The accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of County Highway DB and Sunset Drive, in the Town of Dewey. According to a press release, Matthew Brucker, 25, and Robert Hartman, 66, died when they failed to stop at stop sign at County Highway DB near Sunset Drive. A press release did not say who was driving, but does say they lost control and rolled the vehicle, knocking over several trees.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. The victims were not wearing seatbelts.
