A 72-year-old Clintonville woman convicted of not providing proper care for one of her five horses will spend one year on probation.
Barbara Thiry was initially charged with 15 misdemeanor counts of neglect and mistreating animals related to care of her five horses, BiBi, Lady, Rebecca, Ruby and 2 Socks. The horses were 2 ½ to 26 years old, according to the criminal complaint.
Friday, a jury found Thiry guilty of only one count of failing to provide proper food for her horse Lady. Two charges were dismissed by the court. She was found not guilty of the others.
As part of Thiry's sentencing she was ordered was pay court costs, and undergo counseling.
