The trial against Larry Clark, 61, was scheduled to being on September 24, however his attorney withdrew from the case on September 7. His A new attorney, James Connell will represent Clark in future court proceedings.
He's facing nine charges including 1st degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, forgery, using a fake ID, and providing false information about a missing person. He pleaded not guilty in January 2011.
Prosecutors say in July of 2010, Clark killed his 79-year-old mother, Marcella Clark, and hid her body on the property of the home the two shared. Authorities began their investigation on November 11, 2010 after a concerned neighbor reported Marcella hadn't been seen since June. Marcella Clark's body was discovered days later. Investigators believe she may have died weeks earlier
Larry Clark told authorities she had gone out of town to see her sister in Arkansas, but Marcella's sister told police the two had not seen each other in months.
The Adams County district attorney's office said Marcella Clark died of gunshot wound to the back.
The trial will be rescheduled once Connell has time to study the case.
