For the second time in less than a week, a trailer hauling cranberries has split prompting a road closure.
According to the DOT the right southbound lane of I-39 near Kowalski Road in Mosinee will remain closed until the berries can be cleaned up.
NewsChannel 7's Shannon Shepherd was in the area when the trailer split, and says berries cover the road for at least a half-mile.
The accident was reported around 4 pm.
Last Thursday, a similar event happened. The westbound lanes of Highway 54 near Eagle Road in Wisconsin Rapids were closed after a trailer hauling 6,000-7,000 lbs of cranberries cracked spilling a portion of the load onto the highway.
