The Wausau Police Department says a 30-year-old Chicago man is facing criminal charges after a traffic stop Sunday netted 17 grams of heroin and more than three grams of cocaine.

Police say the suspect stopped for a traffic stop on I-39 at Locker Road Sunday.

The department says the arrest was result of a joint drug trafficking investigation by the Wausau Police Department Community Resource Unit (CRU) and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU). The Wausau Police Department and Marathon County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Units also assisted.

It's recommended the suspect be charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
