A lieutenant with the Marathon County Sheriff's Department tells NewsChannel 7, a Town of Wausau man was found dead in a wooded area after a hunting accident not far from his home.
Lieutenant Dale Wisnewski says Steve Raskie, 50, had been hunting by himself. Family members became concerned on the evening of October 22nd when he didn't return home from hunting. They started a search of their own, and found his body just after 6 p.m. The lieutenant says when Raskie was found, he was lying the ground, shot in the jaw by the bolt of his crossbow. A bolt is an arrow.
The lieutenant says it does appear to be an accident. An autopsy has already been done.
