There’s a new push to boost tourism in Marathon County. The Tourism Summit hopes to make the county a “Top 10” destination in the state for tourism.
Representatives from about 40 municipal, business, and sports groups gathered to discuss the goals for the next three to five years. Organizers know that bringing people to the area means they have to focus on making the experience unique.
Darien Schaefer, Executive Director of the Wausau-Central Wisconsin Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board said, “We work with the Wausau Region Chamber to improve customer service. Raising it will always be a point of differentiation.”
Organizers know that getting visitors here is only half the challenge. They understand that the other half is focusing on the customer’s needs and desires.
