Tomahawk Native, Actor Dies at 50 Years Old After Hunting

Jay Michael Leggett, a former actor, director and producer living in Los Angeles collapsed and died Saturday afternoon at a seasonal cabin in the Town of Tomahawk.

Leggett was 50 years old when the Lincoln County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

At 4:07 p.m., Nov. 23, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office took a 911 call of a person not breathing at a seasonal cabin in the Town of Tomahawk, according to the Lincoln County Sherriff's office news release.

When a deputy and Tomahawk EMS responded to Wildwood Avenue, they found family members performing CPR on Leggett. After paramedics continued CPR, Leggett wasn't able to be saved, and the Lincoln County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the news release.

Witnesses told deputies that Leggett returned from the cabin from his deer stand on an ATV. After getting off the ATV, he collapsed and was found unresponsive.

The release said foul play is not suspected in this case.

Leggett was known for his work in movies and television shows such as "Employee of the Month," "In Living Color," "Another Day in Paradise," and "Hit Me," according to IMDB.com.
