A 38-year-old Tomahawk man is facing criminal charges after he's accused of threatening to kill a deputy and his family following an arrest for a traffic stop.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department say the man was brought to the jail Saturday evening after a Deputy came across a vehicle in the ditch on Lake Pesobic Rd near East Shore Drive in the Town of Merrill.

The man denied being the driver telling the Deputy a relative was driving. A short time later the man admitted he was in fact driving the vehicle but he had lied because he had no driver’s license.

Investigators say once at the jail the suspect made several threats saying he was going to kill the Deputy who arrested him along with the Deputy's family.

The man was booked on charges of obstructing an officer and a felony count of threatening a witness along with probation violation.
