Tipline For Kira Trevino Steger Receives 50 Leads

The St. Paul Police Department says a tipline dedicated to collecting information regarding the whereabouts of a missing D.C. Everest grad has netted 50 tips, but so far have not lead to Kira Trevino Steger.

According to WCCO-TV, one tip led them to a set of footprints in an unusual area. The tracks ended up belonging to a fox trapper.

Police are asking community members to think of any possibilities of where Kira might be concealed — looking for anything suspicious near nature centers, parks, wooded areas, ponds, industrial dumpsters, construction sites or low lying areas.

Kira Trevino Steger was reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 24 and is believed to be dead based on the amount of blood found in her home and vehicle.

Her husband, Jeffrey Trevino, 39, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in her disappearance, after investigators found evidence of a violent crime.

Police continue to search for information in this case. They ask anyone who might have seen her vehicle (a 2006 white, four-door Chevy Cobalt with license plate XCC-572) or anyone that may have seen Jeffrey Trevino between that Thursday or Friday to contact the tipline.

The tipline, 651-560-3277, was established on Friday, March 1 and continues to be staffed by investigators whenever possible.
