Area Artists, Restaurants Team up to Fight Hunger In Wausau

Dozens of area restaurants are taking part in one of the largest fundraisers for a Wausau non-profit that offers food, clothing and other services to area residents in need.

The Neighbor's Place was started in Wausau in 1987 through cooperation among several area churches. They say their mission is simple: help people in need.

The fundraiser, Empty Bowls, is Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the Rothschild Pavilion. Tickets are $10-- includes meal and bowl. Tickets for ages 6-12 is $5-- meal only. Five-years and under are free.

The bowls are handcrafted and donated by area artists.

The following restaurants and have donated the following soups for the 6th annual event:

Emma Krumbees – Stuffed Green Pepper

Filling Station – Camper’s Stew

Friendship House – Chicken Rice

Great Dane –Potato Bacon

Green Mill Restaurant – Chicken Enchilada

Greenwood Hills – Chili

IHOP – Loaded Potato

Kim Raifsnider – Cheesy Buffalo Chicken

La Prima – Buttery Squash & Apple

Mino Spada – Italian Wedding Soup

Olive Garden – Minestrone

Palm Supper Club – Chunky Beef Chili

Pinewood Supper Club – Clam Chowder

Red Eye Brewery – Cheesy WI Beer & Brat

St. Andrews Lutheran Church – Beef Barley Mushroom

St. Andrews Lutheran Church – Chicken Noodle

Townies Grill – Butternut Squash

Vino Latte – Tomato Peanut

Wausau County Club – Creamy Tomato Basil Bisque

Yo Chubby Gringo – Spicy Red Chile Sopa
