A 28-year-old Three Lakes man is now charged with battery, attempted arson, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest following an incident last Friday morning.
According to court documents, an officer responded to a home on Highway 32 for a person who was acting irrationally. According to the criminal complaint, the suspect, Stephen Buell had been drinking; which was violation of his bond.
Police interviewed a woman who said she had been sleeping when she woke up to Buell beating her. The criminal complaint stated the woman had serious facial injuries and a fracture to her back. The woman told investigators at one point the man tore up some papers and lit them on fire. The woman was able to put them out.
The woman and Buell did know each other.
The responding officer also noted damage to a wall, window and some electronics in the home.
The officer attempted to place Buell under arrested at which point Buell allegedly ran out a patio door, but was later tased and apprehended.
Buell was also charged with two additional counts of bail jumping.
A future court date has not yet been set.
He is free on a $5,000 cash bond.
