Thorp Woman Dies Following Aug. 31 Crash

The Clark County Sheriff's Department said an 80-year-old woman injured in a crash August 31 has died from her injuries.

The crash happened Saturday around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Broek Road and Tieman Avenue in the Township of Worden, which is southwest of Thorp.

Authorities say a vehicle driven by an 83-year-old man pulled out in front of another vehicle and was hit. The man's passenger, Betty Benzschawel, of Thorp,was airlifted to an area hospital and died Sept. 5.

The driver of the other vehicle received only minor injuries and did not need medical attention.

The driver of Benzschawel's vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
