The Tripoli Shrine Circus is in town. They've pitched their tents and have been performing all weekend long at the Marathon Park Ice Arena.
Hundreds of families packed the house, enjoying the circus pre-party riding ponies, a camel and even an elephant. Then they took in the big show complete with majestic tigers and stunning aerialists. But regardless of the entertainment, for many families Sunday was still all about dad.
"We're here for Father's Day and we thought that it would be a great day for my father," Young Sylus Yang tells NewsChannel 7.
Yang says his favorite circus act was The Mighty Bo the elephant, but there was a close second.
"It was when the guy had a 30 pound pot on his head and he was spinning around," Yang shares.
The Tripoli Shrine Circus is actually a fundraiser benefiting Tripoli fraternal organizations, specifically the Shriners Hospital for Children.
From Wausau, the circus will travel to Minnesota. They have two more appearances in the State of Wisconsin coming up in July.
