No matter who you ask, everyone has a favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. Whether it's the juicy turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, or your favorite homemade stuffing, it's hard to find someone that does not like the food.
This year, it will cost you less to feed your family on Turkey Day than last year. The average cost, according to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau for a meal for ten people is $48.88, which is $1.29 less than last year.
However, many experts say you can make a delicious Thanksgiving meal for even less -- you just have to find the right bargains.
At Crossroads County Market, a 12 pound turkey will cost you $6.84. You can compare that to the statewide average of $22.72 for a 16 pound turkey.
Mary Gaiche, Store Director for County Market says even though $48.88 is the average, you can serve your family a meal for far less.
"Turkey, cranberries in a can, frozen vegetables, a pumpkin pie from the bakery, stovetop stuffing...if you want to you can have a thanksgiving meal for under 20 dollars," she says.
The American Farm Bureau says Americans will eat 46 million turkeys this Thanksgiving.
