ASHLAND, Wis. (AP) -- Police are holding a 14-year-old boy in a suspected homicide in northwestern Wisconsin.
The victim, a 52-year-old Ashland man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identify the victim as William Saari.
Ashland Police Captain James Gregoire says officers got a 911 call and were sent to the home shortly before 9 p.m. Monday.
By the time Gregoire arrived, Saari was being treated by medical personnel but was later pronounced dead. The victim's wife, Carolyn Saari, was not hurt.
Police say the boy is in a detention facility. Authorities would not specify the boy's relationship to the victim or say what kind of weapon was used.
The Daily Press reports counselors were made available to students and staff in the Ashland School District.
