It's not a scene that most emergency crews see every night, but luckily a woman that was trapped in a sinking car is now safe.
Officers were called to Scholfield Park on Wednesday night after receiving a report of a car in the water. They swam fifty feet out into the water, broke the car window and pulled the 46-year-old woman out.
She was initially unconscious, but officers were able to revive her.
"It was a team effort and everyone that had a part in it did a really good job," says Lieutenant Mark Wagers, of the Marathon County Sheriff's Department. "It's not too often that we get a good ending on one of these types of situations."
Police say the woman intentionally drove her car into the water.
She is recovering at North Central Health Care Center.
