Tax filing help is now available to local residents with a household income of $49,000 or less, and who do not own a business, farm, or rental property, or have capital gains.
Volunteers will provide assistance on the following Saturdays from 9am-2pm: Feb. 16, March 2, 9, 30, and April 6 at UW-Marathon County at the Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Avenue in Wausau, until April 6.
To have returns completed by a volunteer tax preparer, taxpayers must make an appointment by calling 715-261-6285.
Support for this program was provided through the Caroline S. Mark Legacy Fund of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin.
Volunteers are certified by the IRS to prepare returns free of charge.
