The college semester is just beginning for thousands of students across our area. For some, the pressure of classes, making new friends and living on their own can catch up to students. That leads to them using - and sometimes abusing - alcohol and other substances.
UW Marathon County leaders feel its their responsiblity to empower their students to make the right choices.
"This year we will be embarking on a year-long initiative focused on reducing the number of high risk activities related to alcohol abuse and other substance abuse," said UWMC's Campus Coordinator Jodi Brandt.
The university also helps students with problem gambling and prescription drug abuse.
