Sylvan Hill Finally Open After Weather Setbacks

Posted: Fri 4:11 PM, Dec 21, 2012

It’s opening just in time for winter break. Many kids will be spending their days away from school rushing down the slopes at Sylvan Hill.

Before they opened to the public today, some kids from Horace Mann Middle School gave the slopes a test run. Parents and children alike waited patiently as Sylvan had postponed its opening a week because of the rain and warm temperatures.

Today however, with the first sounds of the tow ropes revving up and the sound of joyous sixth graders, its safe to say that Sylvan’s back in business for the season.

Karyn Powers, Recreation Superintendent for the city of Wausau reminded people, “Find your snow pants and get here as quick as you can.”

Sylvan is open tonight starting at 6pm until 9:30pm. Saturday they open at 1:30pm until 5pm and 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Sunday starting at 1:30pm until 5pm.

All riders at least 42 inches tall and up are welcome.
