Suspects in Wausau Burglaries May be Tied to more Crimes

The Wausau Police Department has released new information about three suspects tied to at least five burglaries in Wausau.

The burglaries are believed took place in September and continued through last week.

Police said Monday in a press release, 13 guns taken from a home on Christian Avenue on the city's westside were recovered. Some of the guns were found under the Bridge Street bridge. Police identified all three men as suspects in the case.

On Dec. 5, police issued warrants for Rocky Noah, 25 and Darryl Wood, 26. The men were arrested the next day at a house on the 600 block of Steuben Street.

Police also arrested Ivan Villaseca, 18, for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and possession of stolen property.

Investigators say interviews and evidence will continued to be processed to determine if the the suspects may be tied to other crimes.

According to a news release from the Wausau Police Department, Rocky Noah and Darryl Wood have been arrested.

Officers say they got an anonymous tip that the two burglary suspects could be staying at a house on the 600 block of Steuben Street. So they observed the home and around 12:30 Friday morning, they noticed the suspects leaving. When officers approached Noah and Wood, they tried to run off, but were arrested in a neighboring yard.

Police also arrested Ivan Villaseca, 18, for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and possession of stolen property.

The Wausau Police Department has issued warrants for two suspects believed to be behind a three recent burglaries at unoccupied Wausau homes.

The Police Department said a tip lead them to a home on 1000 block of McIntosh Street. Investigators say inside the garage a stolen vehicle was located along with items reportedly taken during the burglaries.

Police say at this time they are searching for Rocky Noah, 25 and Darryl Wood, 26. The two may be driving a black 2-door 1995 Honda Civic, with Wisconsin License plates 111-TPA.

The two have previously been convicted of robbing a taxi cab driver in Wausau. Prosecutors say on around 4 a.m. January 7, 2008 Noah and Wood called a taxi and held up the driver demanding money. They placed an unknown object to the back of the driver's head. The two then ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives say they were able to trace the phone call that was made requesting the cab and identified the owner of the phone. The men were arrested in New York about a month later.

As part of a plea agreement, Noah pleaded guilty to robbery by use of force and car theft as a party to the crimes. Misdemeanor theft charges were dismissed. Noah was sentenced to eight years of probation in after the judge withheld a 10-year prison sentence.

Wood also reached a plea agreement, and plead no contest to felony charges of being a party to a robbery with the use of force and to operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. He was sentenced to one year and prison and three years extended supervision.

The Wausau Police Department is warning residents about three burglaries on the city's eastside that they believe are related.

Police say the homes were unattended and forced entry was used to gain access to the homes. In all three homes the shades were pulled down indicating the suspect may have spent some time in the home.

The dates of the burglaries cannot be pinpointed due to the home being not occupied.

The burglaries are believed have occurred Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.

In the most recent incident, police say the suspect stole a gold 2001 Nissan Altima 4. The vehicle has Wisconsin License plates 888-MKT.

The Wausau police department is investigating a burglary at home on the 800 block of Ross Avenue.

The incident was reported around 6:30 Monday evening.

According to the Wausau Police Department incident report, force was used to gain entry to the home.

A World War II Nazi sword and $50 in change are items reported stolen.
