WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) -- A 14-year-old boy who failed to resurface while swimming in Milwaukee-area river has died.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office says the teen had a pulse when he was pulled from the river Saturday afternoon, but he died at a hospital later in the day.

He and other children had been swimming in the Menomonee River at Hoyt Park in Wauwatosa. Witnesses say the teen went under and didn't come up.

The boy's name and cause of death haven't been released.
