Suspect in Custody after Incident in Merrill
44 year old Frank Barber is in custody after an incident involving a gun in Merrill Wednesday evening.
The police chief tells NewsChannel 7 they were called to the 700 block of State St. around 7:45PM with reports of one man threatening another with a gun.
When officers arrived at the scene, they say the men went into a home and refused to let them in. So they called the Special Response Team, although the chief says the incident was not an armed stand-off. A block around the area was blocked off.
Barber appeared in court today. He is charged with Recklessly Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct while armed.
He also received a $3000 signature cash bond, must surrender all weapons, and have no contact with his neighbors on State Street in Merrill.
Mr. Barber is due back in court on October 18th.
