The Walworth County Sheriff's Department is hoping a new photo will spark a tip that could lead to an arrest and conviction in a 1982 cold case murder.

Aug. 10, 1982, the body of 34-year-old Barbara Nelson was found in a cornfield alongside Bray Road, about half a mile west of Highway 11 in a rural part of Walworth County.

According to WITI-TV, Nelson was abducted during a robbery just five days earlier at the Mini Stop-N-Shop in the Town of Albion, near Edgerton in Dane County.

Witnesses described seeing an older blue or green pickup truck which resembled a 1961 Studebaker pickup truck.

If you know of anyone who owned or had access to a vehicle matching this description in 1982, please contact the Walworth County Crime Stoppers at Call 262-723-2677.
