Man Accused of Breaking Windows at Marshfield Clinic Pleads Not Guilty

The man accused of breaking windows at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield last month resulting in thousands of dollars worth of damage is now free on a $500 bond.

On Monday, William Sachs, 40, pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal damage to property and two counts of disorderly contact this week in Wood County Court.

A judge ordered him to have no contact with Marshfield Clinic or any of its properties. He also must stay on his medication.

A jury trial is expected to begin in June.

A 40-year-old Spencer man is expected to be charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after he reportedly broke $7,000 worth of windows at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield.

The Marshfield Clinic's Media Relations Manager, Bob Mackle says the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. That's when the man used a hammer to break windows at the Urgent Care Center and at the Russell Lewis Building.

The man was arrested and is in the Wood County Jail.

No one was injured, except the suspect who had cuts to his hands. Patients in the affected areas were taken to other rooms.
