The Marathon County Sheriff's Department has released video from inside the jail showing the brutal attack that left two corrections officers injured.
The incident happened March 27. It shows corrections officers in the process of collecting lunch trays inside cellblock C of the Marathon County Jail.
Deputies say 20-year-old Fredrick Morris is the man that becomes combative. A single punch to the head sends corrections officer Julie Christensen to the ground. She's knocked unconscious and seriously hurt.
Deputies say Morris also struck corrections officer Denny Woodward in the face.
Morris is charged with two counts of battery by a prisoner and one count of aggravated battery.
Since the incident the jail has faced scrutiny after reports showed it was understaffed and unsafe.
Since then, an independent jail security panel made up of marathon county citizens have been discussing ways to improve the facility.
