4th and 5th grade students from Grant Elementary School in Wausau took part in an animation workshop.
It's led by Miles Inada, an Art Professor from Southern Oregon University.
The kids learned the basics of designing animation frames and storyboards, just like what's used to create comic books and graphic novels.
"This is almost a form of literacy for them, to understand how narratives work, how storytelling works...so as they get older they'll be able to tell their own stories and be able to understand how they're being affected by media", explains Inada.
Inada was invited to lead the workshop by UW-Marathon County Art Professor, Diane Budde.
His animated work has won awards in several film festivals.
