Local students have a better understanding of the Hispanic culture today after 7th and 8th graders from Newman Catholic Middle School gave presentations on the topic.
Topics varied from tamales and pasteries to carnival. The students shared information with their classmates, teachers and parents and prepared activities for them including trying traditional Hispanic dishes to creating masks.
The presentations are part of the middle school spanish curriculum.
