A car is a total loss after a University of Wisconsin- Marathon County sophomore spun out into a ditch with water just before 8 a.m. Thursday on her way to school just south of Little Chicago near Hamburg on Highway 107.

The female driver said she was driving her 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix on the slushy roads when she fish tailed and spun into a ditch with water.

The driver said she was the only person in the vehicle.
