The Stevens Point Police Department has released the description of a man they want to question for allegedly offering a child a ride.

According to a news release from the department, a 10-year-old boy said he was walking on the 2700 block of Indiana Avenue when a newer, gray van pulled up and the driver asked him if he wanted to go to the Dollar Store.

The boy said 'no', and the man drove away.

Police say they're investigation the man's intentions.

The man is described as in his 40s, with a reddish beard. He may have been wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt at the time.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13.

The department takes these cases seriously. If you have any information call Detective Sgt. Joe Gruber at (715) 346-1518.
