A 24-year-old Stevens Point man will spend 10 years behind bars for his role in a cocaine ring.

Adrian Haynes pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute in August.

Haynes was indicted in March following his arrest in Stevens Point. At
the time of his arrest, he was in possession of approximately 30 grams of cocaine and there was other evidence indicating that he was distributing narcotics.

Prior to his arrest, Haynes resided in Wausau where he was involved in cocaine trafficking with five other men, all of whom have been sentenced to between 66 months and 20 years in prison for their respective roles in the case.

Prior to Haynes's guilty plea, the United States filed a notice of enhanced penalties with the Court, which triggered a mandatory prison term of at least 10 years in the case to reflect the fact that Haynes had two prior drug felony convictions.
