A 28-year-old Stevens Point man has pleaded not guilty to child enticement charges after police say a conversation between he and juvenile girl turned into plans to meet for a sexual encounter.

John Koback made his initial appearance Monday morning in Portage County Court. Police say he was arrested during a sting operation February 11 in a parking lot near Stevens Point Area High School. The juvenile female contacted the Stevens Point Police Department and an officer posed as the girl and continued conversing with the suspect on Facebook.

Koback is also charged with bail jumping. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum sentence of 31 years in prison.

The Stevens Point Police Department would like to remind parents of possible online dangers and encourages them to monitor their children's internet activity.
