A 35-year-old Stevens Point is charged with killing his mother's dog and causing mental harm to a child after he reportedly did it in front of his minor son. The incident reportedly happened Dec. 19.

According to court documents, Todd Boaz admitted to killing his mother's dog, Lucky by stabbing it several times, and told an officer the dog “didn't go easily” and that it “put up a fight”.

Investigators says Boaz's arm had serious injuries and had numerous scratches which Boaz said were from the dog.

Boaz's son said his father believed the dog was suffering because it was always scratching itself.

Boaz told police he killed the dog and discarded its body behind their apartment. Court documents state the dog was a Boston Terrier.

He's behind bars on a $2,500 cash bond. He'll return to court Jan. 21 to learn if the case will head to trial.
