Stevens Point Group Collecting Christmas Gifts for Needy Seniors

A national program is coming to the Stevens Point area this holiday season to help older adults facing financial challenges and loneliness experience a Merry Christmas.

Home Instead Senior Care in Stevens Point is collecting gifts for seniors who might otherwise spend the holiday alone. The program runs now through December 8th.

To participate, stop in at the Associated Bank located at 1305 Main Street, and pick an ornament off the tree. The purchased gifts can be dropped off at the Home Instead Senior Care office at 101 Division Street N, Ste 6, Stevens Point.

On December 8 there will be a gift-wrapping party involving our Home Instead staff and their families. The gifts will be distributed on December 15th by volunteers.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 9 percent of U.S. seniors 65 and older are living in poverty and 27 percent are widowed.
