The Stevens Point Parks Commission and Common Council approved changing the name of the Riverfront Arts Center to honor two of the area's philanthropists.
On December, 17 the Riverfront Arts Center will be known as Annette and Dale Schuh Riverfront Arts Center.
“Annette and Dale Schuh are passionate and committed supporters of the Stevens Point and Central Wisconsin arts community,” Mayor Andrew Halverson said. “This is a fitting way to thank them for their efforts to make this community a better place to live; with great access to culture and the arts.”
Sentry Insurance and the city will share the cost of changing center signs and materials. To that end, the Sentry Insurance Foundation will make a $35,000 contribution for continued operation, support and maintenance of the center.
