MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin agricultural producers have a shot at a growing market with an upcoming trade mission to Colombia.
The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is organizing a trip to the South American nation in mid-July.
The agriculture department says Colombia's livestock industry has a growing demand for U.S. exports like animal feed, feed ingredients, livestock genetics and agricultural equipment. The U.S. moved more than $1 billion in agricultural exports to Colombia last year.
Besides meeting with buyers, U.S producers can also tour a feed mill. An interpreter will be on the trip.
Producers have to register by April 22, and pay their costs.
