State Patrol, WisDot Announce Summer Driving Safety Initiative

The Memorial Day holiday weekend signals the beginning of the summer travel season across the nation.

Tuesday in Wausau, the Department of Transportation and the State Patrol reminded drivers to stay safe when out on the road.

According to AAA, Wisconsin has had several record years for Memorial Day weekend travel.

WisDOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb helped kick-off of a 'Summer of Safety' to help prevent traffic crashes

A new State Patrol "Choose Your Ride" vehicle was also debuted at the news conference.
