Special Event Uses Beer to Break the Ice About Prostate Cancer

Updated: Fri 5:47 PM, Sep 21, 2012

Breast Cancer Awareness month is days away, but September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month. With many men, the subject is not very easy to talk about, however things my change with a cold beer in your hand.

When Michelle Radke spoke with founder Rick Lyle, of Pints for Prostates, she became inspired to raise understanding for the disease. The group joins with craft breweries in an effort to create awareness between men over some beer.

Michelle contacted Point Brewery and they welcomed the idea. In conjunction with PointOberfest, Pints for Prostates will join together to raise proceeds to find a cure.

Michelle continues, “It’s important that all men understand their health and screenings. A PSA is an important thing for men to know about. My passion is working with our support group to help them and others as much as we can.”

PointOberfest will be held right across the street from the Point Brewery from four until eight tomorrow evening. The event has live bands, great food, and of course a ton of beer.
