BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- The adult son of a man missing in Jackson County is suspected of killing his father and burying his body.
Sheriff's officials say a tip led deputies to a stolen SUV. When deputies approached, a man believed to be the son fled into some woods. Sheriff Duane Waldera says deputies from Jackson and Trempealeau counties, the State Patrol and state agents searched the area Wednesday. The 20-year-old son was arrested about 6 p.m. southeast of Hixton where he lived with his father.
While the son was being arrested, searchers found a buried body believed to be the father's on his property. An autopsy was scheduled Thursday.
WXOW-TV reports the son is being held in the Jackson County Jail.
