On a cold day at Nine Mile Forest, some prefer to sit by a warm fire. Others prefered to make snow angels. For those willing to brave the elements, it was a great day to go snowshoeing.
A short race was held for young snowshoers while adults could chose between either a 6K or 12K run.
The husband and wife team that organizes the event says they do it so that others can experience the outdoors.
"We have been doing it for the last 6 years. Its just to do something in the winter to stay active and to raise some money for the Marathon County Parks Department." said race organizer JC Snowshoe.
This was the 7th year that the snowshoeing event was held.
