It's beginning to looks a lot like Christmas. Snow is blanketing much of our area, leaving a mess for local residents and business owners to clean up. But all the white stuff isn't stopping families from heading outside, for a family tradition.
After last nights snow storm, it may seem like many are staying home and enjoying the warmth, indoors. But one local Christmas tree salesman says that's not the case. In fact, all of this snow is bringing families out in search of their Christmas tree.
According to Jeff Nyberg, owner of White House Enterprises, yesterday was a record day in terms of tree sales. Nyberg says, “That anytime it snows it kind of kicks people into the lets go get our tree mode.”
Since the snow accumulated on the trees, Nyberg says he has had to use a leaf blower to remove the snow. That way the branches don’t get damaged, and the customers get a better look at the prized tree they are taking home.
Nyberg says despite the snow, rain, and sleet, customers’ show up with a smile on their face, proof that a snow storm doesn't stop families from finding a perfect tree.
