This time last year, Starwood Farm Sleigh Rides in Ringle had to put the sleighs away and bring out the wagons because there was not enough snow for the sleighs to ride.
But thanks to the snowfall the past few days, the sleigh rides are seeing a rise in demand.
"I would say that this year is actually better as far as the snow," said co-owner Gail Bayer, "now that we've got a cover over the ice, we're good. If it chills through and stays put, we should be pretty much good to go through the season."
Bayer says the horses do not mind the weather right now. Their thick coats protect them from the wind and snow - but freezing ice can be tough for them to ride through.
