Many of us are fascinated with the night sky, the stars, constellations, and planets.
Now you have an opportunity to learn all about them in an upcoming program at UW-Stevens Point. It's called "Sky Quest" and follows the story of a woman who imagines trips to Mars as a child and eventually becomes an astronomer, building her own observatory.
The UWSP Planetarium and Observatory Director says it's important for families to learn about the night sky because it's not only something that catches our eye, but stays with us forever. Dr. Randy W. Olson says, "If you have a little bit of familiarity with what some of the stars are, and some of the constellations, it makes your enjoyment of the night sky that much more enjoyable."
The programs take place at 2 p.m. on January 29th, February 5, 12,19, 26. March 4 and 11, and April 1.
They're held at the UWSP Planetarium in the Science Building and there's no cost.
