UPDATE: No Sign of Pedestrian who Caused Rollover Crash on Hwy. 51

Wisconsin State Patrol says a person who caused a crash last week when a driver swerved to miss them has not been located or identified.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Friday, May 2.

The victim said he were driving on Highway 51 north of Brokaw when he swerved to miss a person standing in the middle of the road. The driver's truck rolled over. He was able to escape the vehicle.

A Sgt. With State Patrol said two other motorists substantiated the victim's report-- noting they also saw a person standing in the road.

State Patrol said firefighters from the Town of Maine were on scene that night with thermal imaging equipment to locate the person, but had no luck.

The condition of the driver is unknown, however, his injuries were not life threatening.

Troopers are searching for a pedestrian they believed caused a rollover accident on Hwy. 51 just north of Brokaw Friday night. A trooper tells NewsChannel 7 a pick-up driving south on Hwy. 51 swerved to miss a person who was standing in the middle of the road. That's when the truck rolled.

A state trooper tells NC7 the driver of the pick-up truck is being looked over at a local hospital. Initial reports say the driver was ejected; however, the trooper say he crawled out of his vehicle.

There are several agencies assisting in the accident - including the Wisconsin State Patrol, Marathon Co. Sheriff's Dept., and the Town of Maine Fire Dept.

Crews are on the scene of a single car accident on Highway 51 just north of Brokaw.

The Marathon Co. Sheriff's Dept. says it was a rollover and one person was ejected. It happened in the southbound lane just after 10 p.m. Friday. Dispatchers say the road is still open.
