The Shawano County Sheriff's Office is warning locals about a police impersonator.

Sunday afternoon, the sheriff's office received a report about a man pretending to be a police officer during a traffic stop in the village of Bonduel.

Deputies say the man was not wearing any type of law enforcement uniform but had a gold-colored five-point star badge.

He is described as being a white man in his early 40s with short blond and gray hair and rotting teeth.

Drivers are encouraged to call 911 if they're suspicious of an officer's credentials.
