Authorities responded to a structure fire in the town of Pine Grove just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Portage County Sheriff's Office, a driver on I-39 called the Sheriff’s Office to report a possible structure fire just east of I-39. When a Deputy arrived on the scene, he found a metal building fully engulfed in flames. The structure is on Paramount Farms property and was currently housing tractor trailer units that were destroyed in the fire.
Fire Departments from Bancroft, Almond, Plover, Town of Hull, Town of Stockton, Amherst, Rosholt, Hancock, Wild Rose, Plainfield and Grand Rapids assisted at the scene.
The Fire Task Force also responded to the scene to try and determine the cause of the fire which is currently under investigation.
